Yogurts: the 2 references that contain the most fruit
According to a recent survey carried out by the CLCV (Consommation Logement Cadre de vie), a national association for the defense of consumers and users, the yogurts in our supermarkets contain very little fruit, if at all. Two references nevertheless stand out.
The two yogurts with the most fruit
According to the study, the yoghurt that contains the most fruit is the mango passion coconut milk yoghurt from the Michel et Augustin brand, with 23% fruit in total.
Here is the list of these ingredients: coconut milk 66% (coconut extract, water), Alfonso mango puree from India 16%, passion fruit puree 7%, a hint of sugar, Japanese pearls 5% (cassava starch).
Farmer yoghurt on a bed of strawberries from the Ferme de la Vieille Abbaye comes second. It contains 18% strawberry.
Here is the list of these ingredients: 82% stirred yoghurt: whole milk, milk powder, ferments; strawberry preparation 18%, strawberry, pectin.
Yogurts contain very little fruit, if at all
To conduct its investigation, the CLCV analyzed the composition of 264 yoghurts and fresh dairy desserts available in 9 stores (Auchan, Carrefour, Casino, Franprix, Intermarché, Leclerc, Lidl, Monoprix and Super U).
In its study, the association also reveals that "yogurts and desserts that highlight at least one fruit on their packaging (98 of our references) contain on average only 8% fruit".
She adds that “in one out of 10 products, there is not even a trace of fruit! ". According to the study, 85% of the products analyzed contain flavorings (including natural flavorings for 65% of them, flavorings without specifying their nature for 20%, and no flavoring for 14%).
Note: when it says "flavour" or "aroma" following the name of a fruit on the product, there is no "real" fruit in it, only a taste reproduced naturally or synthetically.
