Interview. Laetitia Milot gives us her beauty secrets as a young mother!
When asked if motherhood has changed her consumption of beauty products, Laetitia Milot answers no. She says she has been demanding for a long time, having always paid particular attention to what she drinks, what she eats and what she applies to the skin. No wonder, then, that she lends her image to a natural brand, vegan, accessible and concerned about its impact on the environment. On the occasion of the launch of this collaboration with Florena, it is in all simplicity that the solar actress talks to us about beauty, pregnancy, postpartum but also the sweet moments shared with her little Lyana, 3 years old.
Pregnant, did you scrutinize the labels of beauty products?
At the time, I trusted products formulated specifically for pregnant women only. Even on the perfume side, I was careful because many are aggressive for the skin. I only diffused them on my clothes. A habit that I have kept: in the summer, I steal my daughter's baby perfumes, because I know they are alcohol-free and free of potentially risky substances.
How did you experience the evolution of your body during pregnancy?
I had a serene and peaceful pregnancy, I was in total harmony with my body. I was lucky enough to be immunized against toxoplasmosis, not to be bedridden, to be able to do a job that I love... I shot A Baby for Christmas until very late, everyone was at my little care on the set. Then I had two weeks off at home and my daughter arrived. I was in good shape all the way! I liked that life, I was happy, I didn't worry, I had no anxiety. My midwife was great, she accompanied me in everything.
Did your postpartum go well?
How long did it take to feel good about your body again?
I had a shoot three months after the birth, so I needed to lose some weight but not too much. It is especially for the filming of the series Olivia, that I had to find my line. She was scheduled for October and I had given birth in May. There, I said to myself "pressure, I have two months to redo lots of sport and achieve my goal" and I succeeded. Everything happens in the head in reality. On the other hand, on the food side, I never ate badly so I didn't change anything. And then me, I'm a foodie, I can't go on a diet.
What were your beauty habits during the first months after birth?
Stretch marks, did you dread them when you were pregnant?
Becoming a mom often means showing a little face in the morning. How did you handle it?
Today, what is your beauty routine?
I always start with the Florena soap that can be used on the body, the face but also on the eyes, because it doesn't sting! It is 100% natural. Then, two drops of tonic lotion to prepare my skin and I move on to the cream. Since I was 32, I've alternated moisturizer and anti-aging cream, I finish one jar then I move on to the other, like a cure. And in the evening, I remove make-up from my face with cleansing milk, clean with soap, apply lotion and add two drops of the Regenerating Elixir Oil to the antioxidant night cream. It's great, it softens the skin and helps it renew itself while I sleep.
All this with Florena products. Why did you agree to be muse?
Do you already pass these values of respect on to your daughter?
Yes, during our dog's daily walk, I explain to her what surrounds her: the name of a tree, what the vines are for, how mushrooms grow, etc. Respect for nature is very important, and she understood it well. When she sees a piece of waste on the ground she says "it's not good, there are people who aren't nice", even if it means expressing herself loud and clear, which is very funny when you walk through a park with lots of people around. (laughs) As for the values of beauty, I will pass on to him the ones I have received.
Does this beauty heritage come to you solely from your grandmother?
From my mother too. As a teenager, I had a phase where I wanted to put on make-up, sometimes with a little heavy hand. My grandmother used to tell me "be careful Laetitia, the foundation is not great, use a light powder instead and remove your make-up well." When I think about it, she's the one who "traumatized" me with make-up removal, since I never ignore it! And I continue to always stay well hydrated and not to smoke, which greatly contributes to the quality of the skin. When I see young women who accumulate layers of makeup, I often want to tell them that they are beautiful and do not need to do so much. My mother and my grandmother did a good job.
And you, do you already have wellness rituals with Lyana?
Yes, massage rituals. When she was a baby, I got used to that. Then I passed this stage because she did not want any more. But recently, she asks me again, I take advantage of it!
