How to prepare and bottle feed Baby? (video)
Step by step, Marylise Arizzoli, childcare director of the Cap Enfants des Louvresses crèche in Gennevilliers (92), shows us, with the help of little Alice, how to prepare and give the bottle to your baby. Up to you.
1- I pour the water
Use mineral water for babies) in a bottle that has been open for less than 48 hours and kept in the fridge once started. Pour the right amount, i.e. 30 ml per dose of powder.
2 – I level off the powder
Most powdered milk cans have a flat rim specially designed to level off the dose. Otherwise, remove the excess milk with the flat side of a clean knife.
3– I pour the powder
The important thing is not to touch the edge of the bottle with the pod and aim well so as not to lose milk powder. The right measure: one dose for 30 ml of water. Properly store the pod in the box afterwards.
4 – I stir everything
We first close the bottle before stirring the preparation by sliding the bottle in our hands back and forth, straight. Without shaking it so as not to create lumps which could clog the teat.
5 – I heat it
Remove the pacifier and cap before placing the bottle in the bottle warmer. We stir to homogenize the temperature and we test it by pouring a drop of milk inside our wrist.
6 – Well settled
Sit comfortably, shoulders relaxed, your baby semi-recumbent, head well wedged in the crook of your elbow. Tilt the bottle so that the teat is always full of milk.
7 – And finally the burp
At the end of the feed, straighten your baby straight up, his torso resting against your chest, his respiratory and digestive voices clear to let the baby escape. air burp.
Health and safety
We no longer recommend sterilizing the bottle, but it must be impeccably clean. For this, you can wash the bottle and separate accessories either by hand, with dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher just after giving the bottle to baby.
When preparing milk, always use the measuring scoop sold in the box: depending on the brands and characteristics of the milks, their density is not necessarily identical. Hence the risk of incorrect dosage.
