Expiry dates, how to get there?-Kiss my Chef
Since 1984, when you purchase a food, solid or liquid, it has a date beyond which consumption of the product is not recommended.
One of the main recommendations of the White Paper would be to amend this display to include an additional lifespan and to add the words "and also after". For example, on a cake pack, you will find "to be consumed before 06 / 2019, and also after".
Of course, this measure would only apply to products that are not sensitive.

Trust your senses: open your eyes, smell and taste!
The sight, the smell, the taste will allow you to waste less.
Try to forget the dates and test the product you want to use yourself.
If your products are kept properly, without having been opened (no break in the cold chain, away from light, dry, cool), the alert points are as follows:
How long do you keep your products?
What you can keep, keep, keep … An eternity
All these products are the basis of preservatives, used since the dawn of time. So they never perish.
What you can keep for a long, long time
What you can eat after the recommended date
The only risk is that these foods will lose their flavour or texture.
Foods that deserve your attention
It's up to you to reduce your food waste.
