Donation of food to the populations of the village of Dara by Misin: the bilateral Italian support mission in Niger provides food for food to around 3,000 people

Within the framework of civil-military relations between Niger and Italy, the bilateral Italian support mission in Niger, led by the Italian brigade general, Alessandro Grassano, offered, yesterday Thursday, November 11, 2021, an important lot offood in the populations of the village of Dara, which has 2.990 souls.The ceremony took place in the presence of the mayor of Namaro, M.Niandou Hamidou, of the commander of the Battalion of the Paratroopers, Colonel Adamou Seïni, of the village chief of Dara, M.Hassane Hama and a large audience.

Located in the rural commune of Namaro, about forty kilometers from Niamey, the capital, the perimeters of Dara serve as a framework for joint training and training of Nigerian parachutist soldiers and in particular paratroopers of the Nigerian Para-Commando Battalion, CIt is in this context that this food support was graciously offered by Italy.The gift of food consists of bags of millet, sorghum, rice, corn, cowpea, cans of oil, couscous boxes, powdered milk, sugar, salt and tomatoes.

In his intervention, Brigadier General Alessandro Grassano indicated that the bilateral support mission in Niger, in collaboration with the paratrooper battalion, organized this donation of Vires in favor of the inhabitants of Dara."Two years ago that Italian-Nigerian aviative cooperation started.Since that time, Nigerian and Italian paratroopers have worked, hand in hand, and in symbiosis and that in a climate of serenity, confidence and understanding, "said the Italian soldier.According to him, these training courses and training of Nigerian paratroopers have become constant and have successfully supported the support of the Dara population, who offered her hospitality and her understanding for the smooth running of the exercises."This donation, we hope, will support the population in their efforts to be resilient in the face of the possible food crises suffered by the villages," wished the Italian mission commander.

General Alessandro Grassano seized the opportunity to highly thank the entire population and customary authorities of Dara, as well as the Nigerian military authorities, including Colonel Adamou Seïni, commander of the Battalion of Parachutists and all the paratroopers, both Nigerian andItalians, having contributed to the good performance of this event.In addition, Brigadier General Alessandro Grassano apologized to Dara populations, ‘‘ for the disturbances caused by training and training exercises ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’’ ’.

As for the mayor of Namaro, M.Niandou Hamidou, he welcomed the fact that the presence of the paratroopers contributed has ensured security in the area.Also, he called Italian cooperation to continue this support for the needy populations of Niger.

Note that Misin has been active since 2017 in Niger where it performs several cooperation activities with the Nigerian armed forces (FAN), in order to contribute to strengthening the capacities of fan and the improvement of general security in Niger and its citizens.
