Fundraising for the Ecuries du Fays - RTC Télé Liège

A violent storm fell on June 4 in the town of Villers-le-Bouillet. Bad weather that has not yet been recognized by the Disaster Fund. At the Fays stables, the sand track was devastated by the waters. A crowdfunding has been launched to finance the repair work.

The Fays stables in Villers-le-Bouillet were badly affected by a violent storm on June 4th. The water and mud washed away the sand from the outer track before rushing into the carousel facilities below.

"We have a lot of damage to the facilities of the indoor arena, but our outdoor track needs to be completely redone," explains Héloïse Schalembourg, from the Ecuries du Fays. "The problem is that if the insurance intervenes for the arena, it does not cover the outer track in bad weather”.

“An expert came and explained that the layers of sand had been mixed up and the ground could no longer be trodden on by horses without risking injury. But even if it has not been used since the storm, it must be maintained to prevent the vegetation from resuming its rights. »

The Fays stables currently have about thirty riding horses and ponies, and about fifteen boarding. Without outdoor facilities, it is difficult to fit everyone in for lessons and training.

“Yes, we have 180 licensed members with us, and we find ourselves really cramped with only one track. So, while waiting to find out if the disaster fund will intervene for this June 4 storm, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched with the aim of being able to set up a temporary track very quickly. In exchange for donations, various rewards are offered, such as entries for our equestrian show, with meal and champagne, or even pony lessons,” comments Héloïse Schalembourg.

To feed this crowdfunding, sales of quids or lasagna are also planned. The whole team is mobilized. The operation closes on October 25.
