Are you tempted by the waterfall but don't know where to start? The Ice Climbing Écrins (ICE) is made for you. Mid-January takes place this festival focused on the initiation and progression in ice climbing. With Argentière-la-Bessée as your base camp, and the Écrins and Queyras as your destinations, you will quietly discover the basic equipment and techniques, all supervised by guides.
Petzl, Millet, La Sportiva, Black Diamond and Camp are partners and can lend you some of the equipment. This 2022 edition presented two new features: electric mountain bike approaches, and an ice tower in Freissinières. And if you also like ski touring or want to try dry-tooling, there are also dedicated workshops. Something to alternate activities during your stay on site! In the evening, we have a good time between film evenings and debates with personalities from the mountain world.
