Customize your furniture

After a few years of cohabitation with your furniture and objects, a weariness sets in: it's time to change their look! There are many traditional colors and decorative effects (patinas, etc.). Nothing exceptional than repainting your furniture, but giving them a contemporary look by mineralizing or metallizing them, that's really new!

stone effect

The mineral aspect is obtained from a monolayer coating enriched with glass pearls and a pearly glaze which creates a material effect. In the kitchen, you can protect the furniture or the worktop with a varnish, but this will give a shiny effect.

– “Mineral coating” by Libéron, in 7 colours, €27 for a 1-litre jar; glaze in 3 colours, €18 for a 500 ml jar.

– “Bistrot varnish” from Libéron, €17.50 in 0.5 l or €30.70 in 1 l.

Metal look

With metallic effects, anything is possible, from mint metal to its most corroded state! For a smooth finish, choose ready-to-use paints.

– “Metal effect” by Libéron, €12 for 250 ml.

– “Metallic” by Boiro, €31 for a 1 liter jar.

– “Les Métalliques” by Syntilor, €15.95 in 0.25 l.

If you prefer aged looks, opt for products that apply in two coats.

– “Background paint” and “Elixir to gild” by Libéron, patinated aspect, €12 each in 250 ml.

– “Coating” and “Metal concentrate for finishing” by Libéron, textured or corroded effect, €12 each in 250 ml.

In a lighter version, aerosol paints give a glittery effect to objects or furniture.

– “Metallic sands” by Libéron, in aged gold, bronze, silver, pewter and “Metallic dust” in gold, silver and copper, €9.90 for a 400 ml aerosol.

Preparation

For varnished or painted supports, clean with water and a little washing soda to thoroughly degrease the support. Leave to dry, sand with sandpaper. For a waxed surface, clean with a wax remover then sand with fine-grained sandpaper. Apply a layer of preparation depending on the support: a wood, metal or smooth surface preparation coating such as plastic, Formica, glass, etc. at Libéron, between €11.70 and €13.80 in 250 ml, or “Valfond” by Dulux Valentine, for all formats €15.80 in 0.5 l.
