Washable layers: choose them well and use them
Good to know before buying:
-there are classic layers (with an absorbent part, the layer, and an impermeable part, the protective panties, independent) but also "all in one" layers, either TE1 (absorbent part and impermeable part sewn together, to be washed together), or TE2 (an absorbent lining is attached to the impervious panties). An insert can be added inside to increase absorption capacity (e.g. overnight);
-the diapers are usually made of cotton or microfibre, but other materials are available (bamboo, polar …) . They are either unitaille (the same layer adapts to several sizes thanks to a pressure system) or multi-sizes (each diaper has a different size, so it is necessary to buy the diaper depending on the size of the baby);
-all diapers are used with disposable cellulose protective sheets to be placed in the diaper, for stool. These can be washed and reused if they have been soiled only with urine;
-the ideal is to have about 20 washable layers available for good rolling between clean and dirty layers, as well as six protective panties.
