Biathlon At the end of the suspense, France third in the mixed relay in Oberhof, untouchable Norway
Without Emilien Jacquelin and Quentin Fillon Maillet left to rest with a view to their conquest of the crystal globe, the French team offered a unique composition this Saturday for the first mixed relay of the winter in Oberhof.
Led by Antonin Guigonnat, Simon Desthieux, Anaïs Bescond and Julia Simon, the Blues took third place on the German site, without however having been able to hope for better.
If the victory was confiscated from the start by Norway launched ideally by the Boe brothers, Ingrid Tandrevold and Marte Olsbu Roeiseland, Antonin Guigonnat and Simon Desthieux physically picked on the track (1 pickaxe for Guigonnat, 2 for Desthieux) and left escape the lead of the race.
The battle for the podium settled down during Anaïs Bescond's stint. Despite two lying pickaxes, the Jurassienne was full standing up to launch Julia Simon in the best conditions. Galvanized after her three podiums in three races, the Savoyard once again made her power speak. Despite fears lying down (3 pickaxes lying down then 2 standing up), the biathlete from Les Saisies allowed her team to climb to the third step of the podium, 2' behind the Scandinavians. This is the 23rd tricolor podium of the winter.
