All the dates you see on your food are not expiration dates.Here are four dates of common food labels that you can see in the grocery store and what they really mean.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:
"Best before" date: the date following the mention "Best before" indicates when the conservation period ends.
Packaging dates: "Packed" notices are similar to "better before" dates, but they are used on packaged foods for retailing whose storage time is 90 days or less.
None of these dates corresponds to an expiration date and does not indicate whether food can be consumed without danger or not.
